Share your views on Initial Teacher Education, for schools not involved in ITE

If your school does not work with trainee teachers, this is an opportunity to share your experiences, perspectives and reasons why.

By taking part in a 1-hour interview, your insights can help shape future ITE provision in Wales and ensure the experiences of all schools are represented.

As part of this research, we want to hear from staff (teachers, school mentors, school leaders) working at schools who are not part of any ITE partnership as it's important that your voices are equally represented in the research as schools who are part of ITE partnerships.

Your perspectives will help us fully understand how ITE policy and reforms are working in practice, it’s important that the experiences of schools outside current partnerships are represented alongside those that are actively involved.

The interview will explore:

  • your school’s experience of ITE partnerships (past or present)

  • how changes to those partnerships have affected teacher recruitment and school experience placements

  • your views on future ITE provision in your area

  • whether recent ITE reforms, such as accreditation changes, professional standards, and incentive schemes, have met the needs of schools in your context

Interviews last up to 60 minutes and will be held online via Microsoft Teams (no account required).
